Mr. Nitin Sharma
MBBS, MS, DNB, FRACS (Plastic Surgery)
Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Hand and Wrist Surgeon.
Mr. Nitin Sharma is an Australian Qualified Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon who undertook his initial training in India. After qualifying as a Plastic Surgeon in 2001 he trained at the Singapore General Hospital, Singapore between 2003 and 2005 before immigrating to Hobart. In 2012, Mr. Sharma undertook a one year clinical fellowship at the Roth Macfarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre, Canada to further his special interest in Hand & Wrist Surgery.
Mr. Sharma offers a comprehensive range of procedures for Congenital and Acquired Hand and Wrist Conditions. He also offers Cosmetic and Body Contouring Procedures.
Mr. Sharma travels to Philippines to volunteers his surgical expertise in Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery. His other interests include Travel, Photography and Bonsai.

Mr. Sid Karanth
MBBS, MS, MCh, FRACS (Plastic Surgery)
- Mr Sid Karanth is an Australian qualified Specialised Plastic Surgeon and Hand Surgeon.
He holds the FRACS qualification. His area of interest is hand surgery, wrist surgery, peripheral nerve surgery and skin cancer surgery.
He has completed plastic surgery training in India and Australia and holds qualifications in both countries. To pursue his interest in hand and wrist surgery he has undertaken fellowships in Sydney (Sydney Hand Unit and St Luke’ Hospital) and Barcelona (Instut Kaplan).
His private practice is through the rooms at the Centre for Hand, Wrist & Plastic Surgery. He is accredited to admit and perform operations in Hobart Private Hospital, Calvary Healthcare- Lenah Valley Campus and St John’s Campus and Hobart Day Surgery. He also works at the Royal Hobart Hospital as a VMO (Visiting Medical Officer) in the Department of Plastic Surgery.
He is involved in research work and publications. He is the ASPS appointed supervisor for training involved in training and mentoring Plastic Surgery trainees and other junior doctors. He regularly attends courses and conferences online and in person to keep abreast with latest in the field of Plastic Surgery, Hand and Wrist Surgery and Peripheral Nerve Surgery.
He volunteers with Interplast Australia and New Zealand providing Plastic Surgical training, mentorship and performing surgeries in Papua New Guinea. He has also volunteered in Philippines, Fiji and Namibia. Outside of work he enjoys his pursuits in the wonderful wilderness Tasmania has to offer- bushwalking, cycling, trail running and sea kayaking.
